Realtor called. We’ve been going back and forth on the 1818 colonial. The owner just won’t or can’t budge off his bottom line. We held firm to our number so it looks like the search will continue for another house.

I’m very disappointed. It’s going to be hard to beat a 200 year old Federal in our preferred location, on a street we love, looking over an inlet, five minutes from the ferry to our summer place. I’m working on my stiff upper lip today.

As my beloved husband says, it’s not over yet. There is only a small pool of potential buyers for such a niche house. Hopefully the owner wakes up and realizes there are only so many people willing to tackle this house’s foundation. If I’m lucky, it will be BEFORE I purchase something else.
